O.C. Fair

I LOVE food!
The O.C. Fair is the place for all things fried.
Every year we go to the fair with one objective, to eat ourselves silly.
Another successful year!
We didn't want to start with something fried, so we went for the much more healthy grilled corn. Then we smothered it with butter, mayo, Parmesan, garlic salt and chili powder. Delicious!

There was a long line for the women's restroom, of course, so Bart had to have a cinnamon roll, while he was waiting. Being more experienced than him when it comes to eating yourself silly, I knew to not eat any of the cinnamon roll, because it expands in your belly leaving less room for fried foods.
This was the first year we tried Fried Cheese filled Ravioli. It was pretty good.

And then it was time for my very favorite fair food of all times...

the Australian Potato. They are heavenly!
I wonder if they actually serve potatoes that way in Australia.
You can see the joy in my face as I prepare to feast.
Long live Aussies!
More corn. It was so yummy we went back for round 2.
This is me in front of 2 ginormous bull.

Last but most definitely not least an old fashioned ice cream bar!

In case you are concerned for our health, we thought it was smart to walk the entire time we were there, burning at least 600 of the 6000 calories we ate that night.

Okay, so I was too full of grease to try a few things, but our goal for next year is to be more adventurous. Bart wants to try the frog legs, and I want to try the deep fried White Castle Cheeseburger. Yes, it is a full on cheeseburger battered and fried. That has to be good, right?

El Capitan 2008

We just got home from an amazing 4 day trip to El Capitan State Beach. The weather was perfect, 85 degrees every day. Dolphins, seals, and squirrels abound. We had great company, the Johnsons, the Monahan girls, and the Twals. The kids had a blast, Autumn was happy to have girls around, and Toby was happy to have boys to bike with. Smores and biscuits cooked over the campfire every night. The stars were beautiful. Great conversation, speed scrabble, bike rides to Oz, skinned knees, Lots of Laughs PEOPLE! Already looking forward to next year.
P.S. The small blonde figure among the grass is Aidan being one with nature.
When you gotta go you gotta go.

July 4th

We had a great 4th of July with the Sloan family.
We were having so much fun we didn't even notice the sun go down, and we missed the firework shows. The kids had such a great time swimming they didn't care!
Homemade ice cream + ribs = YUM!

Good Times

We went to a cocktail party at the Garcias' home last weekend and had a great time hangin' out, chatting, and playing Rock Band.

Happy Birthday Selena!

Thanks for a great time Garcias!
